St Peter's College Partnership (click through to St Peters College here)
St Peter's College in JHB; their staff and Executive Management have offered to share all their high school online resources and teaching videos (including pre-recorded videos and lessons) with our EC schools FOR FREE. They have been teaching on MS teams for the last 5 weeks and this content is all available to our schools as they re-open for the matrics next week.
- Their teachers have agreed to share everything they have developed; whilst their IT team will support the schools and our organisation with some of the technical issues which will come.
- Their marketing team will ensure that their branding is in place - not for marketing but as a clear sense of partnership with a long term view. We support them 100% in protecting their brand and in protecting their IP. We also support them as this establishes a clear message of their commitment. It shows our schools that they are not alone. That we are together in this.
- We will begin with some videos in the core subjects for the matrics - then start to ramp up as we work out what we need to support in; and how this process will best be done. Our teachers will share their priority areas and we will begin slowly with these so that there is no overwhelm at the beginning.
- Online resources will assist as learners will be able to watch and re-watch lessons; teachers will be able to assist in smaller groups and learners who have high risk profiles can watch at home and not feel excluded.
- We have been doing a lot of research in which IT platforms are best to provide access for the learners; providing videos for showing on laptop projectors in large classrooms and smaller tutor groups to manage physical distancing and protect children and teachers
- So the materials will be a massive additional resource which we can draw on this over this time and have multiple scenarios planned to meet the educational needs of our community
We stand alongside all organisations, and Government, who have created resources to meet the needs of education communities around the country at this time. Below please find links to resources and/or resources which are free to share with schools and communities.
